A playful, kid-friendly music experience featuring original beats by The Free Lantern and the project of my 10y old son: 'Smart Dinosaur'.
This session is a live DJ set with electronic music inspired by Free Software, OpenSource culture, and hacker creativity. Expect accessible, rhythmic tracks you can move to, wiggle to, or simply enjoy - not a club night, but an energetic shared moment when the evening becomes dark.
The music is intentionally suitable for all ages and fits the curious, creative spirit of FRI3D Camp. It’s an evening activity to wind down together with sound, rhythm, and freedom, without becoming a “party”. Think of it as a hacker jam expressed through music: open, welcoming, and fun. Children should bring toothbrush and toothpaste.
This one-hour session is a live DJ set built around my own music project, The Free Lantern. All tracks are self-made and explore themes such as freedom, collaboration, technology, and the invisible systems that power our digital world. My 10y old son with his project 'Smart Dinosaur' will join us. Children are invited to bring their toothbrush and toothpaste.
The focus is on groove and flow rather than volume or intensity. Children, teens, and adults are all welcome to move, dance lightly, or simply listen. The atmosphere is playful and inclusive - closer to a creative hacker meetup than a traditional party. A new song to celebrate FRi3D will be launched.
I bring my own DJ gear and projector, 3 laptops and 2 HDMI screens for the visuals created with my purpose-build OpenSource Visual DJ tool 'LyricConductor'.
This activity works well as an evening session: energetic but safe, creative yet relaxed, and closely connected to our values.
